As the hart panteth after the water brooks (Psalm 42:1-2)

To the chief Musician, Maschil, for the sons of Korah. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? (Psalm 42:1-2)
The psalmist experiences here a deep need to see the LORD and expresses his dependence in Him. This need is expressed as a thirst. How parched the feeling when you are dehydrated and need water. How wonderful it is when you finally get that water. This is our experience in the LORD. The more we recognize our need for Him, and it is huge, the more wonderful it is when we experience Him in all His glory and mercy.
