Gospel Minute 9: Translated

Do you see how Jesus alone received the wrath of God that our sins deserve? Do you see how salvation and eternal life must be a gift to us, and that we cannot earn it? Let us consider this salvation some more.
We see that God “hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son” (Colossians 1:13). See how the Father has removed us from the kingdom of Satan to the kingdom of God. This is a transaction initiated by God.
See how God has opened your eyes once you have rested in Jesus Christ for His eternal salvation? Jesus has come “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me” (Acts 26:18).
We were once enslaved to sin and the devil, but now we are free from that domination. “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)” (Ephesians 2:5).
