Gateway to Freedom

The cross is the gateway to freedom, because it kills off everything that is not of Him. Pursue Jesus like Jacob at Peniel. I cannot glory in anything of myself, but in the cross that ended myself.

This present world was created as a means to end, where God would create a new world where righteousness would dwell and His Son would rule. Everything in this present world is a shadow of something greater. There was great cost in making this world, because many would perish, not to mention the Son of God would be pierced. However, God made this present world as a means to create the new heavens and earth, and this would result in the greatest good and greatest glory of God. Hell would be full, which is great tragedy, but the glory of God would far exceed in magnificence than hell does in its horror.

The cross of Jesus Christ is the gateway to this new world of freedom. Nothing from the old world can pass into the new, wherein dwells righteousness. Everything is stripped away, and the LORD works in us to strip it all away, because it is not going with us. We prepare now for that coming kingdom. That kingdom is Jesus.

Oh, if I had heard the truths of being crucified with Christ 30 years ago, how much further along I would be! But alas, it was time that was the great teacher here. How much hopelessness lies within me that I need only the Savior Jesus my Lord, and nothing else. It is taking time to be stripped of everything. And so the wrestling of Peniel continues.
