For of Him, and through Him, and to Him (Romans 11:36)

For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. (Romans 11:36)

God created all things, He sustains all things, all for His glory. He did not elicit advice from anyone. He does not need any help. He cannot be bargained with, and He owes nobody anything. He is creator, owner, and ruler of all things.

He alone is good: “For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations” (Psalms 100:5). He is not good because He meets our criteria for goodness. He is not merciful because we warrant mercy. Truth is not true because we say so. God defines goodness, mercy, and truth, and He does so by His own character.

He is not going to change because our culture redefines goodness, mercy, and truth. “But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end” (Psalms 102:27). We bow to the Son, or we perish. His terms are Jesus’ death for our sins and His rising again. We accept the terms of amnesty, or we wait for His judgment.
