Flat Tire: Thanking God for Safety
2014-05-03
This is one of those times where it is necessary to stop and thank God for his work in our lives.
Recently, after I had dropped my mother off at the airport, I had a flat tire. Now I have not had a flat tire while I was driving ever, so when I heard the noise of the flat tire, I was not even sure what it was. After driving for a few miles, I pulled over, in the pouring rain to find a very tired tire, partially off its rim! I was a ways from home and a few miles from work.
I had a service with the insurance company, so a towing service promptly came to me, and brought me to a place where it could be replaced... I was not even sure where to go with it!
Small though it may sound, I am grateful to God for many reasons. Here are some:
- This happened after my mother was dropped off for her flight. She would have missed her flight otherwise!
- There seems to be no other damage to the car... I could have had damage to the rim or other things, which would have been a more expensive fix!
- There was no injury to myself or anybody else.
- The kindness of all the people that helped me that day, and of my coworkers’ patience because I lost half a day’s work.
Thank you God for all that you do in my life.
