Every Plant, Which My Heavenly Father Hath Not Planted, Shall Be Rooted Up (Matthew 15:13)

But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. (Matthew 15:13)

This is said of the Pharisees, who largely rejected Christ and were therefore never born again. What can be said here is source. Are we from God the Father or not? We must be born again; we must be born of God.

However, anything we do in our own strength will not remain. Only what is done from Christ and for Christ shall last. “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6). And again, “Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is” (1 Corinthians 3:12-13).

This keeps us turning to Him in reliance for every task, because, if it is not from Him, it has no value.
