Escape to the Mountain (Genesis 19:17)

And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. (Genesis 19:17)

The angels told Lot’s family to fully escape the circumference of danger, which included the entire plain. They were told to go higher ground, the mountain, to get to safety.

In these times, where we see signs of judgment on the horizon, it is not enough to escape to the perimeter of sin, where you can look back longingly and glory in it. We are called to be fully separated from sin and the ways of the world. Escape to the mountain. Don’t be polluted with which lies behind, where Lot’s wife met with her doom.
