Enter into his gates with thanksgiving (Psalm 100:4-5)

2025-01-12

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. (Psalm 100:4-5)

Why should I be thankful and bless the name of the LORD? Why is He good? The psalmist answers these questions for us. He is good, but we are not. He extends mercy despite our evil. Instead of punishment, what does He do? He bids us to enter His gates and courts. He calls us into His presence rather than sending us away. Despite our rebellion, He extends his right hand to us in fellowship, as a Father to His children.

What is offered to me is offered to every generation. The grace of God is found in the person of Jesus Christ. He brings us into His kingdom. The wrath against our sins was taken away by Jesus.
