When I Have a Convenient Season, I Will Call for Thee (Acts 24:25)

The biggest mistake is thinking you have all the time in the world.

And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ. And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee. (Acts 24:24-25)

This man Felix, knowing that he kept Paul in prison for no good reason, still heard Paul’s arguments for faith in Christ, personal holiness, and the coming judgment. The governor spoke with him hoping for a bribe, but the apostle, not missing an opportunity, told the message of hope in Christ. He was genuinely scared, and he dismissed him when his conscience could bear it no more.

“Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.”

When is that convenient season? There is no guaranteed tomorrow. Place your confidence in Jesus Christ, who has risen from the dead and is at the right hand of God. He paid for everyone’s sin; it is whether you truly trust that Jesus bore the wrath of God for your sin or not.
