Compassion and Fear (Jude 1:22-23)

And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. (Jude 1:22-23)

Some need the emphasis on the love of God when they hear the glorious news of the Savior. Perhaps they heard about a loveless God and need to see His compassion. Others need the emphasis on the judgment of God, since they see Him in a permissive Santa Claus. Whatever it may be, the Gospel must be preached, loving the sinner, but hating their sin, whatever their background and peculiarities may be. Christ is for all, whoever they may be. For He is both the Compassionate Savior and the stern Judge.
