Christ, Who Is Our Life (Colossians 3:4)
2024-04-06
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3:4)
This appearing is called the Day of Christ, commonly called the rapture for short. This is the great hope we have as Christians, which is both the resurrection of the dead and His salvation from the coming trial that will come on the whole earth for the living.
But that is not what I’d like to point out today. All blessing we receive from the Lord is because of “Christ, who is our life.” He is everything. He has given us eternal life, which tells us the duration of this life. But it is just as important to see that our life is not blood pumping through our veins or brainwaves. Jesus Christ is our real life. He is our power for real life now.
Whether it be for overcoming sin, living a life pleasing to God, or doing anything that we would otherwise fail at doing, we can trust Him to provide what we need for His service. Jesus is our righteousness, holiness, patience, joy, and peace. By constant faith in Him, He gives us power to realize these things in our day-to-day responsibilities.
