The Face of a Cherub (Ezekiel 10:14)

2022-07-19

Ezekiel described four living creatures that accompanied the Lord’s glory.

And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle. (Ezekiel 10:14)

He described their faces like this previously:

As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle. (Ezekiel 1:10)

Though a little different in Revelation 4:7, we read they each had a single face:

And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. (Revelation 4:7)

The list of creature’s faces would be this: man, lion, eagle, and... what?

The fourth is like an ox, calf, or a cherub. So a cherub, perhaps, has the face of an ox calf. Satan was also called a cherub: “Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth...” (Ezekiel 28:14).

Consider these events:

And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. (Exodus 32:4)
Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And he set the one in Bethel, and the other put he in Dan. (1 Kings 12:28-29)

When you see these events happen in the Scriptures, they are satanic in origin. The worship of the calf, or the “cherub,” had replaced the worship of God. The deliverance that was from God was attributed to Satan. Satan was the god of the people when these events occurred. Satanic worship is Satan’s goal for the world.
