Calleth Unto Him Whom He Would (Mark 3:13)

And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. (Mark 3:13)

Jesus calls whoever He wants. Only those He wanted to call went up the mountain, and only the 12 men He chose became His core apostles and disciples. Who are we to say that we are special servants of the Lord? He calls and they obey the calling. I cannot place myself in such a group in which I do not belong.

So many call themselves apostles today even when it says that such men must have been with Christ “Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us” (Acts 1:22).

Even in ministry, we are appointed by the Lord, from the smallest to the greatest. So many would be presumptuous and say they were called to some ministry. Let us wait for His calling, if it comes.
