The Burden of the Church

Freewill does not mean we can choose everything. As sinners, we cannot choose to be righteous any more than a goldfish can choose to fly to the moon. We need the Word of God to regenerate us. The burden is on the church, who is empowered to share the Word and has been entrusted with the Word, to bring that Word to the world. Proclaim it from the rooftops: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). You have a role in that proclamation. It is why we are still here.
