The Bullock for the Sin Offering (Leviticus 8:14)

When Aaron and his sons were consecrated for the priesthood, a sin offering was required:
And he brought the bullock for the sin offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the bullock for the sin offering. (Leviticus 8:14)
These men were appointed for an important position. However, as we all are, they required an offering for sin. “...he himself also is compassed with infirmity. And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins” (Hebrews 5:2-3).
We now have a superior High Priest, Jesus Christ. “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15).
Aaron and his descendants offered sin sacrifices daily, “first for his own sins, and then for the people’s.” (Hebrews 7:27). But what does it say of Jesus? “...for this he did once, when he offered up himself.”
Do you see what that means? There is no more any sin sacrifice necessary. You might not be bringing animals to sacrifice, but you might be allowing practices, even Christian ones, to attempt to pay for your sins. You might be condemning yourself. However, there is nothing more to pay concerning your sins. He paid for all sins “once, when he offered up himself.”
“...there is no more offering for sin” (Hebrews 10:18). Jesus said, “It is finished” (John 19:30).
