Believe the works

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. (John 10:37-38)

The Lord Jesus, though many struggled at the idea of Him being one with the Father, told His hearers to believe the works He was doing. Jesus undeniably did things that only God could do. Because of this, they should believe Him for the works’ sake.

We may never do works on that level, but this shows the role of good works in bringing people to faith. For us, we can show the wisdom of God and the love of God through good works so that the world cannot deny that we belong to Jesus. They will “believe the works,” and therefore concede and believe in Jesus Christ also.
