As A Roaring Lion (1 Peter 5:8)

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8)
We all know this verse very well, but do we understand the implications of it? Consider this one:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12)
Spirit beings are seen throughout the Scriptures, but we are often hesitant to attribute things to spiritual warfare. In the western world, we are very secular-minded in all that we think about science, medicine, and the daily affairs of life. However, there are very real spiritual forces at work around us, and as we see in Ephesians 6:12, they are our chief enemy in our spiritual lives. Not only that, we specifically see in 1 Peter 5:8 that we are targeted by the enemy.
Knowing this is a part of the spiritual battle. Though as Christians we know that our sin is solely our responsibility, and not the fault of another, there are other forces at work to entice us to sin.
What can we do about this situation? We will look at this in more detail soon.
