The Ark of Jesus

For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (Matthew 24:38-39)

Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. (1 Peter 3:20)

And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly (2 Peter 2:5)

Just as the ark saved all the posterity of Noah, Jesus Christ saved all His posterity, namely those who would be born again.

I was saved from the wrath of God by the Ark of Jesus. It would be crazy to ask me, “Have you been saved from the flood waters?” Well, of course, I was yet to be born as a descendant of Noah, and since all his posterity was saved from the flood, I was too.

So it is with Christ. It would be just as crazy to ask if we were saved from the wrath of God poured out at Calvary. I was saved from the wrath of God then in the bowels of Christ. Wrath has passed. Rest in it.
