Ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20)

Before I was a Christian, I heard a sermon on being an ambassador for Christ. I don’t remember much of what that entailed, but I knew from those early days that sharing the Gospel was a central part of the Christian life.
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. (2 Corinthians 5:18-20)
Hear our message of reconciliation: God reconciled us to Himself by the Lord Jesus. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, left heaven and became a human being. He lived a perfect life, doing good by showing mercy to all and healing multitudes. In jealousy, religious and political leaders gathered to destroy Him. However, this was foreordained by God. Jesus became the offering before God whereby He paid for our sins. The wrath of God was satisfied by the blood of Christ. He rose from the dead, was seen by hundreds, and ascended to heaven. He is coming again.
Don’t hide the Gospel by which we are saved. We are His ambassadors and are here for this very reason.
