Who Will Have All Men to Be Saved

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4)

The Calvinist and the Arminian do not take these verses at face value. The Calvinist says that God chooses some to be saved, and others to be damned. The Arminian, who believes you can lose your salvation, says God will let people fall away from salvation.

If God chose people to be saved, and He wanted everyone to be saved, would not He choose everyone to be saved? If we could lose our salvation, would not God slay us 10 minutes before we would fall away?

God does not choose anyone to be saved. It is our job to go out and give the gospel, for it is the hearing of faith that saves (Galatians 3:2, 5; Romans 10:17). If God wants everyone to be saved, and He is not choosing who gets saved, then it looks like it is up to us to give people the Gospel!

People do not lose their salvation; Christians are “born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever” (1 Peter 1:23). We are not born of corruptible seed. It looks like we need to share the Word of God with people, so they can be saved and have eternal life.
