A Faithful Man Who Can Find? (Proverbs 20:6)

Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? (Proverbs 20:6)

Yesterday I mentioned that self-promotion can exist even in Gospel preaching. How insidious can our sin be? Here, we read that most people will promote themselves. We think that even as sinners, we “aren’t so bad.” But our sin is so wicked, it caused the death of the Lord Jesus.

I must understand that my flesh and sin nature is without remedy other than death: my death with Him. To be a true faithful man, we must renounce any of our own so-called goodness and see it on the cross of Jesus Christ. Let only the goodness of Jesus Christ be seen in me, and only honor the one who is truly good. Let the world see the only faithful Man.
