Five Ministries of the Holy Spirit

The following are five ministries of the Holy Spirit and supporting references from the Scriptures.

1. The Holy Spirit indwells believers. 1 John 3:24; John 14:16-17; Romans 8:9.
2. The Holy Spirit testifies of Jesus Christ. John 15:26-27; 16:7-11, 14; Hebrews 10:15; 1 Peter 1:11-12.
3. The Holy Spirit makes intercession for the saints. Romans 8:26-27.
4. The Holy Spirit comforts and sanctifies the saints. John 14:26; Acts 9:31; Romans 5:5, 13, 16; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 5:22.
5. The Holy Spirit is a teacher and a source of wisdom and power. Acts 1:16; 13:2; 20:28; Romans 15:19; 1 Corinthians 2:10-13; 12:8; 2 Peter 1:21.
